Abronica payaso Kim, Donohoo & Gosliner, 2024

Identification:
This aeolid has a translucent body covered with densely packed
opaque white flecks. The cerata have two opaque white bands (a thin
band proximally and a thicker band distally) plus narrow, irregular
subapical yellow
and red-orange rings.
Natural history:
The single known Abronica payaso was
found outside the reef at 24 m (80 ft) in a rocky area exposed to
very strong current.
Distribution:
Midway: widely distributed in the western & central Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first recorded in Hawaii from Midway Atoll by PF on June 6, 1993. It was previously listed as "Tenellia sp. #8."
