Maximum size: 3 mm.
Identification:
This
is a tiny, black species decorated with irregular white patches
that have yellow centers. The rhinophores are tipped in white and there
is a coiled internal shell.
Natural history:
Colpodaspis thompsoni
is a moderately rare species found in rocky habitats
at moderately protected to exposed sites. It occurs from depths of 1 m
(3 ft) to
at least 29 m (95 ft).
Distribution:
Maui, Oahu and Midway: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first
recorded in Hawaii from Midway Atoll by Terry Gosliner and PF on
May, 30 1993.
