Unidentified
Dendrodorid #14
Maximum size: ( )
Identification:
This is a flattened, smooth, dusky pink species with a violet marginal
line. The rhinophores are pink with white tips and the branchia are
decorated with white and gray.
Natural history:
Unidentified
dendrodorid #14 is known from one animal dredged from about 100 m
(328 ft).
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
This species is most likely a Dendrodoris. However, since
no specimen was collected, it's placement in that genus (or this family,
for that matter--it was previously listed as "Unidentified Dorid #14") remains uncertain. It was first recorded
in Hawaii from off Hale'iwa Trench, Oahu by Terry
Gosliner in the 1970s.
