Dentimargo pumila (Redfield, 1870)
Maximum size: 5 mm shell length (Kay, 1979).
Identification:
This is a small, elongate species with a nearly transparent shell and a
relatively broad shoulder (for the family).
The animal is translucent-cream flecked with yellowish white and the
eyes are black. The mantle has irregular white tubercles and black and
cream patches show through the shell.
Natural history: Dentimargo pumila
is a moderately common species found in rocky habitats at moderately
protected to moderately exposed sites.
Distribution:
Maui and Oahu: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes: It may also be listed in Severns, 2011, as Dentimargo cf. fusiformis (worn shell). (Note 1)

Observations and
comments:
Note 1: The description of the live animal in Kay, 1979, appears closer to Volvarina fusiformis and vice versa. Perhaps, they were transposed?
