Doriopsilla sp. #5
Maximum size: about 25 mm.
Identification:
This is a translucent-orange animal mottled with white. The rhinophores
and branchia are orange and the rhinophores are tipped in black and
white. It is weakly tuberculate.
Natural history:
Doriopsilla sp. #5
is known from only two animals found at a highly exposed rocky site at
about 5 m (16 ft).
Distribution:
Oahu: also known from Papua New Guinea and Kwajalein Atoll.
Taxonomic notes: It was first recorded in Hawaii at Makua, Oahu by Scott Johnson on July 18,
1984.
