Graphis sp. # 2
Maximum size:
2.2 mm shell length.
Identification:
The
shell
of this species is intricately sculpted with curving
axial ribs and fine spiral cords. It may be
distinguished from the shell of Graphis sp. # 3 by its more
conical form, larger protoconch and lack of a basal
cord.
Natural history:
Shells
of
Graphis sp.
# 2 are moderately rare in beach drift and more
common in subtidal sand samples.
Distribution:
Maui, French Frigate Shoals and Midway.
Taxonomic notes:
This species is listed as Graphis(?) sp. #1 in Severns,
2011.
