Gymnodoris sp. #8

Maximum size: 4.5 mm.
Identification:
This is a small (perhaps, juv.?) animal that is similar to Gymnodoris alba and Gymnodoris sp. #7 in profile.
However, it differs from small specimens of those species in having
dense orange spotting on the body, orange-tipped branchia and closely-spaced rhinophores.
Natural history:
Gymnodoris sp. #8
is known from a single animal found in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu.
Distribution: Oahu.
Taxonomic notes: It was first
recorded
in Hawaii from Kaneohe Bay, Oahu by the meiofauna team during MarineGeo on May 29, 2017.
