diameter (Kay, 1979).
Identification:
This
species
has a top-shaped shell with a relatively narrow
umbilicus.
Natural history:
Shells
of Heliacus
trochoides
are rare in beach drift. Kay (1979) states that they
are found with Heliacus
variegatus and Heliacus mighelsi in association
with zoanthids.
Distribution:
Maui
and Oahu: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It's listed in Tinker, 1958 as Heliacus trochoideus.
