Maximum size: 10 mm.
Identification:
This is a very elongate, cream animal with spicules embedded in its skin. (Note1)
Natural history:
Helminthope sp. #1 is a rarely seen species that lives insterstitially in sand.
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes: It was first
recorded
in Hawaii from Kaneohe Bay, Oahu by the meiofauna team during MarineGeo in May, 2017.

comments:
Note 1: Katharina Jörger sent the following information: "longest helminthope ever found, externally similar to Helminthope psammobionta, but with remarkable cruciform spicules (similar spicules known from Rhodope crucispiculata)."
