& Hoff, 1974
Maximum size: 8 mm.
Identification:
The
parapodia of this species are sky blue decorated with golden brown
and black ocelli and margined in pale pink. The siphon is tipped in red
and the gills flecked with brown and cream.
Natural history:
Sagaminopteron
psychedelicum is a moderately rare diurnal species. All but one
of the animals we've seen on Maui were found on a moderately exposed accretion

moderately
exposed boulder habitat at a similar depth. The one Big Island animal was found at about 11-14 m (35-45 ft).
Distribution:
Big Island, Maui and Oahu: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first
recorded in Hawaii from Maalaea Bay, Maui by PF and CP on May 3,
1996.
