Scaphander alatus Dall, 1895
Maximum size: 35 mm shell
length.
Identification:
This species has a thin shell with an aperture that expands basally. It
lacks the thickened callus on the inner lip found in Scaphander
pustulosus.
Natural history:
Scaphander alatus
is
known only from shells dredged from 545-596 m (1788-1955 ft) (Kay,
1979).
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first reported from Hawaii in Dall, 1895.
