Diaulula sp. #2

Identification:
This
species has a dark gray notum with a light frosting of white flecks on its
margin. The branchia are greenish with white frosting and the branchial
collar is white. The papillae are even in size.
Natural history:
Diaulula sp. #2 is
known from a single animal found at a moderately protected site at a depth of 1-2 m (3-7 ft). It was photographed at night.
Distribution: Big Island: may also be know from Papua New Guinea.
Taxonomic notes: There's some uncertainty in the ID. But, visible features are a good match for "Diaulula
sp. 1" in Gosliner, et. al. (2018). It was first found
in Hawaii at South Kohala, Big Island by Pam Madden on June 6, 2023.
