Discodorid #23

Maximum size: about 20 mm.
Identification:
This
is
a light orange dorid with small, irregular tubercles on
its notum. It's notum also has a few diffuse, irregular white blotches as well
as irregular clusters of small, orange-brown spots. Its branchia are frosted with
cream. Its rhinophores are brown with bright-white tips.
Natural history:
Unidentified
discodorid
#23 is known from one animal found at about 7 m (23 ft) at a moderately exposed site.
Distribution: Oahu: probably also known from the Marshall Islands.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first recorded
in Hawaii from Haleiwa Trench, Oahu by Shera Chee Mercer on July 22,
2025. It's very similar to the first three photos under Scott Johnson's "discodorid sp. e606" from the Marshall Islands.
