Murphydoris puncticulata Paz-Sedano, Smirnoff, Candás, Gosliner & Pola, 2022
Maximum size: 4 mm.
Identification:
This
species
has a cream body with rows of low, irregular tubercles. Irregular
extrabranchial processes bracket the greatly reduced branchia. The
rhinophores are simple and the body is decorated with brown spots. Spicules are visible in the body wall.
Natural history:
Murphydoris puncticulata is known from six animals found at a depth of 3-5 m (10-16 ft).
Distribution: Big Island: widely distributed in the western and central Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first
recorded in Hawaii from Kawaihae, Big Island by David Prutow on June 30,
2020. It was formerly listed as Goniodoridella sp. #3.
