Murphydoris sp. #3

Maximum size: 4-5 mm.
Identification:
The body of this animal is white except for the rhinophores which are
translucent and decorated with brown frosting and white spots. There may also be a few tiny
brown dots posterior to the extrabranchial processes. The notum and
extrabranchial processes are irregularly tuberculate. The extrabranchial
processes are short, the rhinophores are simple and there are no visible branchia.
Natural history:
Murphydoris sp.
#3 is known from a single animal found at 6 m (20 ft) at a moderately exposed site.
Distribution: Oahu: may be widely distributed in the Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first
recorded in Hawaii on the west shore of Oahu by Damaris Torres-Pulliza on Oct. 30, 2022. It's
similar to "Goniodoridella sp. 5" in Gosliner, et. al (2018).
