slender form, 2 mm
|
Odostomia cf. chariclea Melvill, 1910
Maximum size: 4 mm (Kay, 1979).
Identification:
This
species has a glossy white, inflated shell. Some shells, however, may have a slenderer profile. There
is
one fold on the columella.
Natural history:
We
haven't seen Odostomia cf. chariclea on Maui.
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
This species may also be listed in Kay, 1979 and Severns, 2011 as Odostomia margarita Pilsbry,
1944. Although not completely certain, the shell illustrated as that
species may be a slightly more extreme example of the slender form of O. cf. chariclea (see photo).
