Platydoris sp. #1

Maximum size: 40 mm.
Identification:
This
is a firm, flattened species. The notum is translucent cream
intricately flecked and blotched with light brown, dark brown and
white. The
rhinophores and branchia are light brown.
Natural history:
Platydoris sp. #1
is a rare species found in tide pools and subtidally to about 5 m (16
ft) at moderately protected to exposed rocky sites.
Distribution:
Maui and Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first
recorded in Hawaii at Makua, Oahu by Scott Johnson on July 31,
1978.
