Roxania(?) calcarea

Maximum size: 5.8 mm shell
length.
Identification:
This
species has a thick, strongly inflated shell with widely spaced
punctate striae.
Natural history:
Roxania(?) calcarea is
known from a single shell dredged from 563 m (1847 ft).
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
The
generic placement of this species is uncertain. The one shell
at Bishop Museum is labeled as the type of Leucophysema
calcarea (Dall) without a date. Manuel
Malaquias suggested Roxania
as a possibility.
