Maximum size: about 25 mm.
Identification:
This
is
a golden-yellow species with tentacular papillae. The rhinophores are
solid yellow and the branchia are yellow, flecked with brown and
white.
Natural history:
Thordisa sp. #5 is
known from three animals. The first two were found at between 3 and 8 m
(10 and 30 ft) at moderately exposed rocky to mixed sites. The third was
found, at night, in a large tide pool at < 1 m (< 3 ft).
Distribution:
Maui and Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
It was first
recorded in Hawaii from Makena Landing, Maui by CP on Aug. 2,
2002.
